I want to thank our AAUP members who attended today’s APC meetings to stand in solidarity with faculty. Our presence was appreciated by faculty on both sides of this process. And my very empty cup was a little fuller for having chatted with other faculty, most of whom I had never met before, and by spending time with members of the AAUP crew.
The two most important things I learned in my Ph.D. were 1) to show up and 2) to get to know people all over the university. Those two things have served me in good stead over the last nine years, especially when things get tough, as they are right now for everyone at UNL.
I hope you will show up next week, as the AAUP chapter continues to stand in solidarity with all faculty members for the future of UNL and its students. We will continue to get info out as we get it, just in case anything changes.
